Pluto in the 12th House

The 12th House governs solitude, the unconscious, dreams, and what is hidden. Pluto here makes that interior territory weighty. Your unconscious is unusually active and unusually powerful. Dreams may be vivid and significant. Inner experience — intuitions, fears, premonitions, sudden knowings — runs deep. The hidden life is large. There is often early experience of hidden trauma or family secrets that shaped you below the level of conscious memory. A parent's addiction or illness that was not spoken about, abuse that was not acknowledged, a household climate of unspoken weight. You absorbed material that you may spend much of adult life slowly bringing into consciousness. Solitary transformation is characteristic. The placement does much of its real work alone — in therapy, in contemplative practice, in solitary creative or spiritual discipline, in long stretches of private wrestling with material no one else can fully share.
