Spinning wheel
A wheel for turning raw fibre into thread — patient, rhythmic conversion of unfinished material into a usable form.
A spinning wheel in a dream is the dream's image of patient, rhythmic conversion of raw material into something the household can actually use. The fibre on the distaff is not yet thread; the wheel and the hands together make it so. The dream brings the spinning wheel when something in your life — an idea, a relationship, a body of feeling — is in the long patient phase where shapeless material is being turned by repetition into a workable line. A wheel turning steadily is the dream affirming the patient making. A wheel jammed mid-skein, the thread snarled and the rhythm broken, is the dream noting that the patient process was interrupted, and the work in progress is now a tangle that has to be unpicked before spinning can resume.
