Silkworm
A worm that spins valuable thread from its own body — patient interior labour producing something only the worm can make.
A silkworm in a dream is the dream's image of valuable output produced from inside the body, slowly, with the worm itself as the material. The silk is not gathered from the world; it is extruded. The dream brings the silkworm when something in your life — a piece of writing, a craft, a quiet kind of love — is being produced from your own substance and at your own cost, and the result is finer than anything you could have assembled. A silkworm spinning on its leaf is the dream affirming that the interior work is yielding the thread. A silkworm boiled in its cocoon to release the thread is the dream noting the older truth: that what the worm produced has value others were willing to harvest at the cost of the life that made it.
