A satellite dish in a dream is the dream's image of deliberate long-distance listening. The dish is aimed; it does not receive everything, it receives what it was set to receive. The dream brings the dish when you have, consciously or not, oriented yourself toward a particular channel — a person, a culture, a source of information — and are receiving from it steadily. A dish aligned and receiving cleanly is the dream telling you the orientation is good. A dish blown out of alignment is the dream noting that the source you were tuned to has been lost and the incoming material is now noise.
