Purple Painting in dreams

A representation of something — sometimes of an inner state, sometimes of a memory.

Purple colour places the symbol between hot and cool — a reading that has both calm and intensity at once. The dream often uses purple for symbols that do not fit the usual categories cleanly. Take the reading more seriously than you would otherwise; the colour is asking you to.

A painting in a dream is the dictionary's image of a deliberate representation. The dream often appears when you have been forming a version of something — a relationship, a memory, an idea — in your head, and the dream is showing you the version you have been working on.

Where you often see it. A painting on a wall that you cannot quite see clearly. A painting being made in front of you. The dream uses the painting for a representation of something — sometimes of an inner state, sometimes of a memory.

What it is not. A painting is not always art. The dictionary reads it as a held image of something the dreamer has decided to hold.
