Yoked ox
A working ox under the yoke — slow, immense effort turned to one task by an outside frame.
A yoked ox in a dream is the dream's image of slow, enormous effort organised by a frame the animal did not choose. The ox is strong by itself; the yoke is what turns the strength into ploughed ground. The dream brings the ox when something in your life — a career, a marriage, a long obligation — is currently running by harnessed labour rather than by impulse. A pair of oxen pulling steadily in line is the dream affirming that the yoke fits and the work is being done. A single ox under a broken yoke, standing still in the furrow, is the dream noting that the frame that made the strength useful has cracked, and the strength alone is not enough to finish the field.
