Maze
A built confusion of paths — a route designed so that the way through is not visible from inside.
A maze in a dream is the dream's image of a route deliberately built so that the way through cannot be seen from where you are standing. The maze is not punishment; it is a structure that asks for patience, memory, and the willingness to walk into dead ends and turn around. The dream brings the maze when something in your life — a bureaucracy, a family system, a piece of your own thinking — has the property that no single overview is available, and the only way to learn the shape is to walk it. A maze walked steadily, marking the turns, is the dream telling you the patience is doing its work. A maze panicked through, with the same junctions hit repeatedly, is the dream noting that speed is currently the enemy of progress, and the way out will be found only by the part of you that is willing to slow down.
