Rough Letter in dreams

A message — sometimes from someone else, more often from a part of yourself.

Rough texture adds friction — the symbol is real and useable but the surface of the situation has been worn. The dream is rarely critical; it is noting that the work of it has left marks.

A letter in a dream is the dictionary's image of a message. Receiving one is news that is on its way. Writing one is the dream noting that you have something you have not yet said, often in the form of a sentence that has been forming in you for weeks without quite getting onto the page.

An unopened letter is information you have been refusing to take in. A letter you cannot read because the words blur is a feeling whose meaning has not yet resolved — the dream is asking you to be patient.

Where you often see it. A letter you have been meaning to write. A letter received from someone you no longer know. A letter without a signature. The dream uses the letter for a message — sometimes from someone else, more often from a part of yourself.

What it is not. A letter is not always literal correspondence. The dictionary reads it as the formed inner message.
