Baby Iguana in dreams

A heavy, slow-moving lizard — an old, sun-warmed presence that does not feel any need to perform.

In its baby form, the symbol points to a new, vulnerable instance of itself — something that requires care, cannot yet defend itself, and may not yet be ready for the world. Forgetting or losing the baby version of the symbol in the dream is one of the dictionary's strongest signals of neglect.

An iguana in a dream is the dream's image of an old, self-possessed presence that is no longer interested in impressing anything. Iguanas sit in the sun, eat plants, move when they decide to, and look unreasonably ancient while doing it. The dream brings the lizard when a part of your life — a habit, a season, a relationship — has reached the stage where it no longer has to prove itself. An iguana basking is the dream telling you the rest is earned. An iguana cold and sluggish is the dream noting that the warmth that was sustaining the calm has dropped, and the thing is becoming inert.
