Space to act according to your own will — the room left after necessity has taken its share.

Freedom in a dream is the dream's image of the room left for your own will after necessity has taken its share. Freedom is not the absence of all constraint; absolute freedom is empty. The dream brings freedom when something in your life — a release, an end of obligation, a move to a new context — has opened up real room that the previous condition did not permit. Freedom inhabited and used is the dream telling you the new room is being filled with real choices. Freedom received and then immediately filled with a new master is the dream noting that you do not yet know what to do with the room, and you have hired the first available authority to make the choices for you.
