Closed eye
An eye that has been deliberately shut — sight refused for a moment, by intent rather than by sleep.
A closed eye in a dream is the dream's image of sight refused by intent rather than by sleep. The eye still works; the eye has been chosen, for now, not to see. The dream brings the closed eye when something in your life — a fact about a person you live with, a piece of data about your own conduct, a public scene you do not want to register — is currently being met by a voluntary withholding of attention. An eye closed for a moment to rest and then reopened is the dream affirming the small honest pause. An eye kept closed while the room is doing something that requires witness is the dream noting that the refusal of sight has become a position, and what is happening in front of it is now happening unobserved by you on purpose.
