Baby Dove in dreams

Peace, gentleness, and a message of reconciliation arriving.

In its baby form, the symbol points to a new, vulnerable instance of itself — something that requires care, cannot yet defend itself, and may not yet be ready for the world. Forgetting or losing the baby version of the symbol in the dream is one of the dictionary's strongest signals of neglect.

A dove in a dream is the dictionary's image of peace arriving — sometimes between two people, sometimes between two parts of yourself. A pair of doves is a relationship in its tender, working state.

A white dove with an olive branch is the dictionary's most literal image of reconciliation. A wounded dove is the inverse — peace that has been damaged, often by a small unkind action that is still costing more than its size.

Where you often see it. A dove on a rooftop. A dove released at the end of a scene. The dream uses the dove for peace, gentleness, and a message of reconciliation arriving.

What it is not. A dove is not always cliché peace. The dictionary reads it as the small specific reconciliation the dream is naming.

Related in the dictionary. Read dove with bird, the colour white, and any scene of small peaceful arrival.
