A diary in a dream is the dream's image of a book of one's own kept-to-oneself history. The diary is the place where the writer is the only intended reader. The dream brings the diary when something in your life — an honest private reflection, a record of an experience, an account of your own changes — is being kept in a form that is not for anyone else. A diary written in regularly is the dream affirming the practice. A diary read aloud by someone else, with the private register exposed in public, is the dream noting that the intended boundary of the form has been violated, and what was honest because it was private will not survive being read in another register.
