Old Condor in dreams

A vast, high-altitude bird — perspective so wide it is no longer useful for the next step.

In its old form, the symbol carries long history — accumulated knowledge, accumulated weight, and the kind of presence that does not need to assert itself. Old versions of symbols in dreams are often offering you a sentence you needed to hear from someone who has seen many cycles.

A condor in a dream is the dream's image of altitude past the point of usefulness. Condors fly at heights from which individual lives are invisible; the dream brings the bird when you have pulled back so far from a situation — emotionally, philosophically, geographically — that you can no longer act inside it. A condor circling is the dream noting that your long view has become an evasion of the close work. A condor descending toward the ground is the dream saying that the perspective you gained from high up is ready to be brought back down and applied.
