Baby Caribou in dreams

A herd that crosses long distances every year — life that requires moving with the season.

In its baby form, the symbol points to a new, vulnerable instance of itself — something that requires care, cannot yet defend itself, and may not yet be ready for the world. Forgetting or losing the baby version of the symbol in the dream is one of the dictionary's strongest signals of neglect.

A caribou in a dream is the dream's image of life lived on long, repeating migrations. Caribou survive by moving with the year — by knowing when to leave a place that has fed them and head somewhere that will. The dream brings the animal when you are being asked to recognise that a season in your life is over and that staying in the same place will not be rewarded. A caribou herd on the move is the dream telling you the migration is the right answer. A caribou separated from the herd in late season is the dream warning that staying behind has its own price.
