Eyes in a dream point to perception. Closing your eyes when you should not be is the dream calling out an avoidance. Watching from a distance, unable to act, is the powerlessness that sometimes follows witnessing something you cannot intervene in.
A stranger's gaze that you cannot break is often the dream's image of feeling judged. Bright clear eyes — your own or another's — are a strong positive: clarity is available to you, you have only to use it.

What it is not. Eye trouble in a dream is rarely an eye-doctor prediction. The reading is about what is being looked at, or away from.
